Meet the Pi Care Assistant

When someone you love needs a little help, whether it’s a parent living alone, a spouse getting back on their feet, or anyone keeping track of several medicines, the hard part is remembering everything. The Pi Care Assistant runs on a small Raspberry Pi computer in the home. You pay for it once, and the medicine list, the doctor’s details and the caregiver’s notes stay in the house.

It’s for the older parent who is doing well on their own but could use a reliable nudge, and for the son or daughter who worries from across town.

What it does today

Medicine reminders you can’t miss. When a dose is due, a large red window appears with a chime: TAKEN, SNOOZE 10 MINUTES, or STOP ASKING TODAY. It asks up to three times for each dose, so it reminds without nagging. Leave it running and signed in, and the reminders come on their own.

The medicine list and a record of doses. Every medicine with its times and its doctor, and a history of what was taken and when.

Care at a glance. The doctor, the emergency contact, allergies, conditions and the latest caregiver note, all on one panel.

A caregiver screen. Each caregiver signs in with their own PIN, leaves notes, ticks off the day’s care tasks and keeps a log of visits.

A care sheet to print. A one-page care sheet and a care report, ready for a new caregiver, a hospital visit or the rest of the family.

Help at home. Keep track of who cleans, does the laundry, shops or drives, and put their visits on the schedule. When you save an appointment, it offers to add the ride.

My Health. Write down readings and how you feel, compare them with the limits your doctor gave you, and print a one-page summary to take to the visit. It keeps the record; it doesn’t give medical advice.
