Most software for electrical contractors comes with a monthly bill and keeps your records on someone else’s server. The Pi Electrical Assistant works differently. It runs on a small Raspberry Pi computer in your office, you pay for it once, and your customers, prices and books stay with you.
What it does today
Estimates from your rate card. Receptacles, GFCIs, lighting, circuits, 240-volt and car chargers, subpanels and service upgrades, priced with your own labor rate and markup.
Estimates become jobs. Mark an estimate accepted and it becomes a job with its work order and contract. Service calls go straight to work.
Material on purchase orders. Order from your supply house and receive against the order, so you know what came in.
Crew time by job. The crew clocks in on the job they’re on, so you can compare the bid with what the job really took.
Billing. Invoices, payments, extra work billed on its own, and customer statements printed or emailed.
Real books underneath. Double-entry accounting shows who owes you, where the money went, and a tax report. A payment taken on a job shows as received but not yet deposited until you put it in the bank, the way your accountant expects.
Coming next: plan-set intake
Construction drawings often arrive as one large PDF. We’re building a step that finds the electrical sheets, lets your estimator confirm them, and files them in a new numbered job folder on your office drive. It will be included with the Turnkey system.
